Add to your collection of Star Wars memorabilia with this John Dykstra autographed 2004 Topps Heritage #19 BGS Authenticated Card. A special effects artist, Dykstra is a pioneer in the film industry. As one of the original members of Industrial Light & Magic, Dykstra helped develop the Dykstraflex motion-controlled camera responsible for many of A New Hope’s special effects shots. For their efforts, Dykstra and his team were awarded with an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects as well as an Academy Award for Technical Achievement for the development of the Dykstraflex Camera. Dykstra would go on to provide special effects for a number of high-profile films, such as Star Trek: The Motion Picture, X-Men: First Class and Spider-Man 2, the latter of which garnered him another Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
