If a National League team hosted the game, National League players donned their home uniforms, and vice versa for the American League. This practice remained in place for almost a century until 2021.

The 2025 All-Star Game, set to be held at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, will see players wearing special uniforms during the workout day and the Home Run Derby. However, players participating in the Home Run Derby will wear their home uniforms. Additionally, MLB is working on developing a special hat for players to wear during the All-Star Game, adding a unique touch to the event.

While not all uniform adjustments will be completed in time for the 2025 season due to production timelines, road grey uniforms made from the fabric of the 2023 uniforms will be ready for spring training. By the start of the 2026 season, all uniforms utilizing materials from the 2023 season will be available for use.
