Detroit Pistons 2024-25 City Edition Jerseys Leak, Paying Tribute to Chuck Daly
The NBA’s City and Classic Edition jerseys have once again made an early appearance, a much-anticipated annual event for basketball fans. The Detroit Pistons are set to introduce a fresh City Edition jersey for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The new design, recently leaked on X, showcases a predominant cream color scheme, a departure from the previous season’s black jerseys while maintaining a similar design, paying homage to the team’s iconic Bad Boys era.
The upcoming City Edition jersey for the Pistons features striking black and orange accents, with vertical orange stripes adorning the sides of the jerseys. Notably, the numbers “89” and “90” are displayed in an alternating pattern on the sides, a nod to the Pistons’ championship victories in 1989 and 1990. The leak also includes subtle tributes to the Hall of Fame Pistons coach Chuck Daly, with his initials and signature incorporated into the design, alongside the phrase “Back 2 Back” symbolizing the team’s consecutive championships.
This new City Edition jersey joins the Pistons’ existing lineup, which includes the Statement Edition introduced in 2022, characterized by a primarily black color with red and blue stripes. Additionally, the team boasts the “Icon” blue road jersey and the “Association” white home jersey. NBA regulations permit teams to have up to five different jerseys in rotation throughout a season, providing fans with a variety of styles to enjoy.
The Pistons are gearing up for the start of the regular season, commencing with a home game against the Indiana Pacers on October 23. Preceding the season opener, training camp is scheduled to kick off on September 30, as players and coaching staff prepare for the challenges ahead. The anticipation is high among supporters as they await the official unveiling of the City Edition jersey and the commencement of the new season.
