Philadelphia 76ers Unveil 2024-25 City Edition Jersey at Pearl Jam Concert
Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament caused a stir by leaking the Philadelphia 76ers’ 2024-25 City Edition jerseys at the band’s recent concert at the Wells Fargo Center. The unexpected reveal gave fans a sneak peek at the upcoming design, which pays homage to the team’s history and the city of Philadelphia.
The leaked jersey is a nod to the 76ers’ 2021-22 City Edition uniforms, which honored the iconic Spectrum arena, the team’s former home from 1967 to 1996. Interestingly, the final public event at the Spectrum was a series of concerts by Pearl Jam in 2009, making the leak of the new jersey design even more special.
The new jersey features a white base with a retro red “Sixers” wordmark across the chest, reminiscent of the team’s 1970s style. Additionally, the jersey includes colorful blocks down the side representing Philadelphia’s major sports teams – the 76ers, Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies, showcasing the city’s sports pride.
If the shorts remain unchanged from previous years, they will likely feature the Spectrum’s iconic “S” on the waistband, a custom logo incorporating the arena’s facade and color scheme on one leg, and the 76ers’ bicentennial logo on the other. The Nike Swoosh will adorn both the right shoulder and left hip of the jersey, a departure from the previous season’s design that featured a special diamond embellishment in honor of the NBA’s 75th anniversary.
It is anticipated that the new uniforms will be paired with the same City Edition court used by the 76ers in the 2021-22 season. The court prominently displayed the Spectrum logo at midcourt, navy blue keys, and the Spectrum’s distinctive color panel within the out-of-bounds area, creating a visually striking and nostalgic court design.
The leaked images have sparked excitement among fans and generated buzz around the upcoming season. As the official unveiling of the jerseys draws closer, anticipation continues to build as supporters eagerly await the chance to see their team don the new City Edition uniforms on the court.
