Mjhl On-Ice Officials to Don New Uniforms

The Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) is set to introduce new uniforms for all on-ice officials starting from the 2024-25 regular season, with the debut scheduled for September 20th.

MJHL Director of Officiating, Patrick Gagnon, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming change, stating, “Getting new uniforms for the MJHL officials is something all of us are excited about. It’s going to create excitement with our group to be working the league and also gives younger officials something to look forward to when getting selected to work the league.”

The decision to update the uniforms was driven by a desire to align with the modern look adopted by the NHL and other professional leagues. Gagnon highlighted the reintroduction of last names on the jerseys as a key feature aimed at enhancing rapport and communication among officials.

The new uniforms have generated a positive reception within the league, reflecting a commitment to enhancing the overall on-ice experience for players, officials, and fans alike. The fresh look is expected to not only elevate the professionalism of the league but also contribute to a cohesive and unified appearance across all MJHL games.

With a focus on innovation and progression, the MJHL continues to evolve and adapt to meet the standards of the ever-changing landscape of hockey officiating. The introduction of new uniforms for on-ice officials marks a significant step forward in enhancing the visual identity of the league and underlines its dedication to excellence in all aspects of the game.
