Fernie Fox Backs Youth Soccer Association in Elk Valley
The Fernie Fox Hotel recently made a generous community grant donation to the Fernie Youth Soccer Association (FYSA), benefiting the Fernie United U11 & U14 Girls Teams by providing them with new jerseys. This donation represents a significant investment in local youth sports and reflects the hotel’s commitment to supporting the Fernie community.
The girls’ teams will showcase their new uniforms for the first time at an upcoming tournament in Fruitvale scheduled from September 13-15. The grant from the Fernie Fox Hotel underscores the importance of promoting active lifestyles and helping local youth excel both on and off the soccer field.
The U11 Girls Team is particularly excited to wear their new jerseys as they gear up for their first out-of-town tournament of the season in Fruitvale. This event presents a valuable opportunity for these young athletes to demonstrate their skills, teamwork, and love for soccer on a larger platform.
Jeremiah Pauw, the owner of the Fernie Fox Hotel, expressed his pride in being part of this initiative that empowers young athletes in the community. Nadine Baker, the operations manager for FYSA, highlighted the hotel’s role in creating a sustainable and inclusive female soccer program. By encouraging girls to engage in soccer from a young age, the aim is to establish a supportive environment where they can develop, support each other, and most importantly, have fun. The focus is on empowering these athletes now to inspire them to give back and support future generations of young women in sports.
The Fernie Youth Soccer Association appreciates the hotel’s contribution, which not only provides the teams with high-quality uniforms but also enhances the program’s capacity to nurture growth and sportsmanship among young athletes. This collaboration between the Fernie Fox Hotel and FYSA exemplifies a shared commitment to fostering a positive environment for youth sports in the local community.
