AHL’s Hershey Bears Unveil New Uniforms for 2024-25 Season
The Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL) have unveiled new uniforms for the upcoming 2024-25 season as they aim to continue their success on the ice. The two-time defending Calder Cup champions introduced their fresh jerseys on their website and social media platforms on September 10. While maintaining their signature chocolate brown, white, and cream color scheme, the team has transitioned to a more traditional design.
Both of the Bears’ jerseys prominently display their primary logo, which has been in use since 2012, on the chest. The dark jersey features a brown base with broad cream stripes bordered by narrow white stripes around the sleeves and waist. Cream shoulder yokes without outlines and a brown collar with white laces complete the look. The numbers on the back and sleeves are presented in a cream block font with brown and cream outlines, while the names on the back are in a single-color cream.
In contrast, the new white jerseys maintain the same striping pattern as the dark jerseys, with brown broad stripes on the sleeves and waist complemented by cream narrower stripes. The brown shoulder yokes and brown collar with white lacing provide a cohesive appearance. The numbers on the white jersey are brown with cream and brown outlines, and the name is displayed in a single-color brown.
Both jerseys also showcase a bear’s paw secondary logo on the left shoulder and the W-eagle logo representing their NHL affiliate, the Washington Capitals, on the right shoulder. AHL teams traditionally wear dark jerseys at home until the Christmas break, followed by white jerseys at home until the end of the regular season, and then revert to dark jerseys for home games during the playoffs.
The Bears’ new jerseys are paired with brown pants and gloves, with helmets matching the jersey color and socks featuring horizontal brown and cream stripes. Hershey’s Vice President of Hockey Operations, Bryan Helmer, expressed excitement about the refreshed look, emphasizing the iconic brand and color scheme while celebrating the team’s history and looking forward to future success on the ice.
The team’s previous jerseys featured a more modern design with vertical piping, underarm gussets, and phantom shoulder yokes. The new jerseys will make their home debut on October 19, following special jerseys commemorating their back-to-back Calder Cup victories in the opening weekend games against the Cleveland Monsters on October 12 and 13. Stay tuned for further details on these commemorative jerseys as the season progresses.
