Washington Capitals Partner with TikTok for Away Jersey Advertisement
Monumental Sports & Entertainment and TikTok have recently announced a significant partnership that will see TikTok becoming the official partner of the NHL’s Washington Capitals. This multi-year collaboration, unveiled by Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) and TikTok, extends across various sports properties under MSE, including the NBA’s Washington Wizards, WNBA’s Washington Mystics, NBA G-League’s Capital City Go-Go, and NBA2K’s Wizards District Gaming.
The partnership between MSE and TikTok is set to activate immediately and continue throughout the 2026-27 season. As part of this collaboration, TikTok will be prominently featured on the Washington Capitals’ road jersey, starting with the upcoming 2024-25 season. Additionally, TikTok will serve as the presenting partner for the Capitals’ 50th Anniversary Celebration, which will include a series of special events and initiatives commemorating 50 years of Capitals hockey.

The Washington Capitals have already established a strong presence on TikTok, ranking as the eighth most-followed NHL team on the platform with over 387,700 followers. The team’s TikTok account showcases player personalities both on and off the ice, garnering over 10.3 million likes and generating more than 14.4k posts using the #washingtoncapitals hashtag. Globally, the #hockey hashtag boasts 2.7 million posts, while #hockeytok has 209.3k posts.

In addition to their involvement with the Washington Capitals, TikTok will also serve as the presenting partner for Monumental Sports Network’s coverage of Capitals road games and the Capitals Road to Success radio feature on the Capitals Radio Network during regular season road games. Monumental Sports Network, owned and operated by MSE, holds the exclusive local television media rights for the Capitals, reaching over 3 million homes in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia market.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone for the Washington Capitals, as TikTok becomes their first-ever road jersey partner. In 2021, the team made history by announcing Caesars Sportsbook as the jersey partner for their home and third jerseys worn at Capital One Arena.
