New York City FC Unveils Updated Badge for 2025 MLS Season

Major League Soccer franchise New York City FC is set to debut a fresh appearance for the upcoming 2025 season. The club recently revealed updates to its primary crest and color scheme, slated to be in full effect for the 2025 MLS season. The objective behind these alterations is to enhance the brand NYCFC has cultivated since its inception in MLS back in 2015, all while implementing careful refinements without straying drastically from their established path.

A significant feature of the new badge is the introduction of a revamped “NYC” monogram characterized by thicker letterforms and flared serifs, departing from its previous block-style design. This monogram is artistically aligned with the text encircling it in a roundel. The surrounding text now occupies more space within the roundel and is presented in a newly crafted typeface inspired by the pre-unification signage of the New York City Subway tiles.

Notable changes include the removal of the white circle encompassing the monogram, along with thicker light blue and orange outer rings on the badge. The updated lighter and darker blue shades aim to provide better contrast between light and dark elements, facilitating the integration of a modular system of club wordmarks where the NYC monogram plays a prominent role.
