Braves AA Team Reveals New Name and Logo Before Columbus Move

The Mississippi Braves are set to make a significant move to Columbus, Georgia, following the conclusion of the current season. With this relocation, the team will undergo a complete rebranding, unveiling a fresh identity along with a new name and logo.

Recently, the organization announced its transformation into the Columbus Clingstones, drawing inspiration from one of the two classifications of peaches. General manager Pete Laven shared insights into the choice, highlighting the unique characteristics of the clingstone peach. He expressed that just like the fruit clings stubbornly to its pit, the ballclub aims to establish a lasting connection with the Columbus community.

The design of the new logo for the Columbus Clingstones was crafted by Dan Simon and his studio. Embracing a peach color scheme in their uniforms and logos, Laven emphasized that this distinctive choice sets the team apart within the realm of professional sports. He noted the novelty of their approach, suggesting that the Columbus Clingstones may be pioneering a full peach-themed uniform in the sports arena.

Looking back at the team’s history, in 2021, the Braves made significant changes by selling off their AAA Gwinnett Stripers, AA Mississippi Braves, High A level Rome Emperors, and Single-A Augusta Green Jackets to a management company overseeing these entities. This shift paved the way for Diamond Baseball Holdings to announce the relocation of the AA Braves to Columbus, where they will compete at Synovus Park.

The Columbus Clingstones are gearing up for the upcoming 2025 season, commencing with away games before hosting their inaugural home game on April 15, 2025. Details regarding ticket sales will be disclosed at a later stage, as the team prepares to make their mark in their new home city.

As the Columbus Clingstones embark on this transformative journey, the anticipation is high for the team’s debut under their new identity. With a fresh start in a new location, the organization is poised to create a lasting impact both on and off the field, forging strong ties with the Columbus community and beyond.
